Tom Rice says his side will need to show the same character against Lymm as they did when they beat Harrogate 27-23 last weekend.
The skipper admits his side weren’t at their best but he believes the game was a tremendous testament to the team’s spirit.
Hull had to absorb a lot of Harrogate pressure, but managed to stay in the game thanks to their resolute defence.
Against Lymm, who lead the league by three points, it could be a similar story at Chanterlands Avenue.
But not if the skipper has his way.
“Saturday’s win was a good test of character to be honest,” Rice said.
“We didn’t really get a foothold of the game till the second half.
“Even though we were under constant pressure form a lively Harrogate side we were still able to stay with in touching distance from them.
“And for me was our biggest positive of the game.
“To play below average and yet still get the full five points was a great testament of character.
“As far as Lymm goes, they’ve put themselves up there to get shot at.
“Credit to them they’ve put sides away and walked away with maximum points.
“But it’s now down to us to knock them off their perch.
“We have an end goal, so come 2pm, we’ll be ready.”
