Club Historian Stephen Hodgson takes us on a trip down memory lane every week of the season. With rugby cancelled 5 years ago due to the coronavirus pandemic, Stephen has delved further into the club records to pick out games played on this week 10, 15 and 20 years ago. It continues to be a popular read with former and current players. Do you feature this week?

30 April 2011 – National Division Two North : Hull 22-17 Kendal
Hull completed the double over Kendal with an efficient performance in a 22-17 win in their last home game of the season. Will Robinson opened the scoring in the eighth minute with a try and scored again after twenty five minutes although both tries were unconverted. A brace of Kendal penalties kept the visitors in the game but with five minutes of the half remaining Joe Martin scored an unconverted try in the corner before Kendal finished the half by adding their third penalty to give Hull a six point half time lead. Ten minutes into the second half Rob Devonshire walked through a confused defence for the bonus point try with James Cameron adding the conversion for a 22-9 lead. However Kendal rallied and earned their own losing bonus point with a try and a penalty in the last twenty minutes. The attention for Hull was now on the mid week Yorkshire Cup final against Huddersfield before the final league game of the season away at Harrogate.
