Preparations for new season include Isle of Man training camp

Ahead of the new season, Gary Pearce will take his players on a training camp to the Isle of Man next month.
The squad will fly to Douglas on Friday, August 18 and return home after a rigorous weekend of training on the Sunday.
The highlight of the trip will be a friendly against North One West side Douglas on the Saturday and the coach believes the camp will be ideal preparation for their season opener on September 2 at home to Rossendale.
“The training camp is something different for the players to look forward to,” Pearce said.
“It’s certainly not going to be a holiday camp as we will be cracking the whip.
“It will be a step up in training from what we have been doing so far this summer.
“The camp is a good chance for the new players to bed in and get to know their new team-mates better as they will be depending on each other during a long gruelling season.
“It’s a chance to spend a couple of days with the players training and eating together.
“The game on the Saturday against Douglas will be a good test for us.
“The more time we can spend together as a group, the more we will gel and that should benefit us throughout the campaign.
“We want to come out fighting on September 2 against Rossendale and this camp will help us prepare for our opening fixture.
“I’d like to thank the sponsors including Beal Homes and Solar 21 for making this camp possible ahead of our 25th Anniversary season.”
