Dutton Moore account for top spot in Golf Day

Hull RUFC couldn’t have asked for a better day for their annual Golf Day at Brough Golf Club on Friday.
The summer conditions meant high temperatures and low scores as 19 teams battled for their place at the top of the leaderboard.
The event has grown in popularity in recent years with organiser and club President Bruce Wilkie delighted with the success of the tournament.
“I’d like to thank everyone who turned up to play in this year’s event,” Wilkie said.
“We had a wonderful day’s golf and it was great to see so many supporters of Hull RUFC involved.
“It was a cracking day and I’m pretty sure everyone enjoyed it.
“Brough Golf Club produced a fantastic course for us and the meal afterwards was great also.
“And congratulations to Dutton Moore on their success.”
Those congratulatory words came through gritted teeth as the accountants pipped all the President’s men to win the top prize.
Playing to stableford scoring system, Dutton Moore ended the day on 83 points, one more than Wilkie’s team and two more than Strawberry who had to settle for third spot.
Paul Kaye’s tee shot at the par 3 sixth saw him take the ‘Closest To The Pin’ award while Ben Atkinson pipped Dave Haley for the longest drive on the 16th hole.
