Kiran thanks Hull for opportunity that led to Glasgow return

When Kiran McDonald Seran walked off the pitch after last week’s 26-10 win over Kendal, it brought the curtain down on his brief spell at Hull.
The Scot returns home to join Glasgow next season grateful to Hull for giving him a chance to rediscover the firm that got him noticed by the resurgent Scottish club.
McDonald Seran took a chance coming south of Hadrian’s Wall to play in East Yorkshire and he’s glad he did.
“I’ve really enjoyed my time at Hull and the boys were great to be involved with,” McDonald Seran said.
“I’ve been unlucky with injuries and was out of the mix back home so I thought I’d widen my horizons and come down south.
“Some of the players I’ve played with in Scotland put me in touch with the coaching staff here and it was easy to pack my bags and join Hull.
“I didn’t know what level the rugby would be as I’d never played in England before.
“The physicality of the game in National Three North was quite substantial, not that I’m not used to physicality, it was definitely a step up.”
McDonald Seran hopes to carry on the good form he showed at Hull for his new team who reached the quarter-finals of the Champions Cup.
The surrounding won’t be new to him after spending time at the Scottish giants and is grateful to be given the chance to resurrect his career at Glasgow.
“I’ve been involved in the BT Sport academy for a season and a bit,” McDonald Seran said.
“I was training on and off with Glasgow while playing for my home team Glasgow Hawks.
“I’m really fortunate to have the opportunity.
“I got half a season at U18s level and that kickstarted my rugby.
“I didn’t know if I wanted to play rugby or if I’d be good enough. “Hopefully I can keep going in the right direction.
“Joining Glasgow is a very exciting prospect for me and there are loads of incentives to do well.
“My first priority is to get a good pre-season under my belt and go from there.”
