Second game in three days won’t be an issue for Pearce’s players

Playing twice in three days is never ideal for any coach to prepare his players for.
But Gary Pearce believes his job has been made that little bit easier given the fact Hull go into the game on the back of an impressive 50-29 Yorkshire Cup quarter-final win over Wharfedale.
The semi-finalists face Doncaster Phoenix in their penultimate National Three North fixture at Chanterlands Avenue knowing third place in the league is all but secured.
Pearce knows motivating his players to perform today won’t be difficult with places for next Saturday’s trip to Harrogate in the cup up for grabs.
“It’s more difficult when you lose to pick players up,” Pearce said.
“We have a couple of players to come back in but we might lose one or two from Thursday night.
“We showed on Thursday night by scoring 50 points we can score good tries.
“Our defence isn’t too bad with two of the tries we gave up against Wharfedale coming from interceptions.
“We’re at home and we are proud of our record at home.
“We are ready for Doncaster.
“We want to keep winning now that we have an edge to our game.”
