Rice proud of character shown to reach semi-finals

Skipper Tom Rice put their Yorkshire Cup quarter-final win down to patient and the Culture being built within the club.
Rice, who scored one of his side’s six tries in their 50-29 win over Wharfedale, dearly wants to get his hands on the trophy at the end of the season and is confident of doing so.
Reaching the semi-finals was a reward for the hard work the team put in before facing Wharfedale, who play in the league above Hull.
“It feels fantastic to be through to the semi-finals,” Rice said.
“It’s a good competition to be in and we want to get to the final.
“Come Easter Saturday we’ll be raring to go against Harrogate in the semi-final.
“We kept the ball better and were more patient against Wharfedale. “We played through our phases rather than play the wonder pass. “There was a great spirit in that performance to come from 24-8 down at half-time.
“The boys played for each other and there is a great atmosphere and culture at the club and it’s improving week by week.
“We now have a very quick turnaround for my old body to play against Doncaster Phoenix tomorrow but I’ll be okay.”
