The scenario heading into the final three games of the season is simple.
Hull have to win all three and hope Rossendale lose all three of theirs without picking up a bonus point for losing by seven points or less.
Losing bonus points have been a problem for Hull. Saturday was the sixth time from six games, Hull ended up empty-handed after losing 21-13 to Rossendale.
They say the table doesn’t lie and After losing twice to leaders Huddersfield and twice to Rossendale, Hull can have no complaints.
A missed penalty with the last kick of Saturday’s loss summed up Hull’s frustrations this season in terms of bonus points.
Rossendale, who have lost three times this season, picked up a bonus point in one of those losses.
All 14 bonus points earned by Hull this season have come from scoring four tries, but they fell three short at Rossendale.
Hull end their campaign with three home games starting with Sandal on Saturday, Doncaster Phoenix and finishing with Kendal.
