Hull take on fifth placed Macclesfield this Saturday after getting the better of Billingham last week. Macclesfield have had a good start to their season with wins over Sheffield Tigers, Rossendale , Hull Ionians, and Preston Grasshoppers with their only defeat coming last week at the hands of Fylde who sit just one place above them in the league. All the games have been high scoring affairs with the game against Hull Ionians being decided by just one score. Hull have never beaten Macclesfield partly because they are seldom in the same league but a change to that statistic would be welcome as Hull look to build on last week’s victory .
Off half Reece Dean and number eight Paulos Latu are unavailable this week which has lead to a some changes in the Hull line up. In the pack the return of Evaristo Uriburu-Gray sees him take the open side flanker berth whilst one of last weeks try scorers, Lawrence Cowen-Leak takes over as the number eight .The influential front five remain as last week and will be looking to continue their good work in the set pieces.
The backs see Harry Gunn-McLean move to off half with the rest of the backs as last week. The bench sees centre Tom Minns return after his two week absence and new comer scrum half Joe Adams joining winger Brandon Norman as backs replacements with Oliver Fretwell and Latu Makaafi as forwards substitutes.
Hull’s pack laid the foundation of last week’s victory and a repeat performance would go a long way towards a positive result this weekend. For various reasons Hull have had to look at a couple of positional changes but still have a solid look about them and have the ability to record a second victory of this campaign.
