Mike Umaga and Tony Penn, who have been Hull’s coaches for more than two years, are stepping down after steering Hull to safety in National 2 North.
They came to the club over two years ago at a very difficult time as Hull were struggling with the demands of National League 1 rugby.
They were faced with a squad that had suffered serious injuries to key players at the start of their tenure and that trend continued throughout their time at the club.
The past season saw the complete back division become unavailable through injuries but despite that they managed to achieve the main objective of keeping Hull RUFC in National 2 North.
Three maximum-point victories in succession at the end of the season being a tribute to their and the players’ commitment to the cause. It was a tremendous effort.
They depart with grateful thanks from all at the club and will be welcomed back on any occasion they can attend at Hull RUFC.
