Adlard Ready To Build On Last Season’s Lessons

Preparations for the new season are well and truly under way as director of rugby Mike Umaga builds a squad he feels will be competitive on their return to National 2 North. Umaga can once again rely on Mike Adlard to torment opposition defences after Adlard committed his future to the club he has scored 91 tries for. Adlard shone for the club in their first ever season in the third tier of English rugby scoring 11 tries in 20 appearances and was selected in The Rugby Paper’s Dream Team. Adlard is excited about getting back to business next season.

“I’m looking forward to being back next season with the boys,” Adlard said.
“We’re ready to build on what we learned last season.”

His director of rugby is delighted to have one of the best wingers available again next season.

“Mike is a player who both excites and frustrates coaches,” Umaga said.
“I’m hoping there’s more of the excitement factor this term as he’s a very competent player.
“Selection into the National League team of the season shows his quality.
“Especially when you realise that was achieved in a team that did not win a game last season.
“I’m looking forward to what Mike will bring to the team and the club next season.”
