Hull take on the North Easterners with a few changes to the side from last week. Cameron Curry and Liam Regardsoe return to the second row Al Heard comes in at centre Duell Trueman goes to full back with Reece Dean taking up the off half role.
The side has a well balanced look about it with a back row of Laurence Cowen-Leak, Will Hall and Alex Todd with Harvey Harding returning to scrum half.
Last week’s young players did well but they will get other opportunities and it is good to see them getting involved at this level of the game. Hull’s first phase went much better last week but a sprinkling of yellow cards put tremendous pressure on Hull and keeping fifteen players on the park is vitally important.
In the corresponding fixture earlier in the season Hull could not sustain a 19 point lead mainly because first phase possession dried up in the second half. Hull are playing in the top 49 sides in the country and have competed in nearly every game and have had winning positions.
Darlington are mid table and not invincible. A good kicking game is essential in modern rugby union and if Hull can manage that and harness their attacking ability they will score tries and give Darlington problems.
