Harvey: We Need To Start Fast Against Rosslyn Park

Hull RUFC travel to Rosslyn Park in Mike Umaga’s first away game in charge of the team. A narrow 24-19 defeat in his first game showed plenty of promise in the coming weeks and months. Rosslyn Park sit fourth in the table, and have already beaten Hull at Chants Ave this season. Last week’s return to action following the Christmas break was encouraging and could have been much better had the team not given their opponents a 24-0 lead. Scrum-half Harvey Harding hopes the team can get off to a better start this weekend.

“The way we came back showed a lot of promise,” Harding said.
“It wasn’t a bad start to the New Year, so we were fairly happy with it.
“We’ve set the bar now for future games.
“The one thing we have to take into this week’s game is that never-say-die attitude.
“We’ll fight tight until the end of games.
“We probably needed only another five minutes to score again.
“We could do with working on the shape of our defence.
“If we could have sorted out the issues we had in the first half, we’d have won Saturday’s game.
“We need to start better against Rosslyn Park.”
