Hull RUFC make the trip to Rosslyn Park this weekend hoping to cause a major upset in National League 1. Rosslyn Park are fourth in the table while Hull remain rooted to the bottom of the table. However, if Saturday’s 24-19 loss at home to Rams is anything to go by, there is reason to be optimistic going forward. In a losing cause last weekend, Hull, under new director of rugby Mike Umaga, fought until the final whistle, scoring three late tries to earn a losing bonus point. Lewis Wilson believes the team showed great self belief against the side currently second in the table.
“We had an outstanding week in training with the new coaches, before the Rams game,” Wilson said.
“We had bags of confidence and that showed in the final 10 to 15 minutes, when perhaps before, we would have crumbled a bit.
“We showed great self belief and scored probably the three best tries of the game.
“We’ll set some targets during the week ahead of our trip to Rosslyn Park. We’ll go there and try to win.
“We can all look at ourselves and admit we’re not as fit as we want to be to compete with teams in this league.
“We have to adapt to how we play until our fitness levels are where they should be.
“There’s a really positive atmosphere after the game miles better than it had been previously.”
