Cam: We Start 2023 With New Confidence And Excitement

It’s been a busy time at the club with director of rugby Gary Pearce stepping down from his role to be replaced by Mike Umaga. Umaga took both training sessions this week ahead of their first game of 2023. Co-captain Cam Curry is relishing the resumption of the league following the break for Christmas and the forward admits the team faces a tough run of fixtures. After Saturday’s home game with Rams, the team travel to Rosslyn Park, before Birmingham Moseley make the trip to Hull on January 21.

“The lads are all quietly confident heading into the New Year,” Curry said.
“We’re well rested after two postponements in the run up to Christmas.
“We’ve looked sharp in training this week and it’s good to see we’ve struck a balance between indulgence & exercise over the break!
“We’ve lost some games by the slimmest of margins and we’ve proven time and again we have every right to be in this league.
“The new coaching staff have set out clear and defined goals and changes which we hope will translate into more wins on the pitch in 2023.
“No doubt we have a tough run of fixtures to kick off the New Year, but with a new found confidence and excitement around the club we will relish the challenge.”
