Dias Set To Return For Trip To Sale

Hull will take on Sale FC in Manchester this weekend without prop Charlie Beech, but they do welcome back to the squad Mike Dias who is a long standing front row player with years of experience. Centre Steve Johnson and winger Keane Naylor also come back into contention.

Last week saw Hull come close to recording their first victory as their open style of rugby produced four tries bonus point and very close to snatching a first win. Sale are in top half of the table and will be a tough side for Hull to beat.

The focus must be to eliminate the occasional error that has given away points and ensuring that all first phase possession is retained.

A number of Hull’s younger players have made their mark this season. Forwards like hooker Josh Hanlon and flanker Lewis Wilson as well as wingers Edwards and Rawlins can be pleased with their contributions so far.

It takes time to get used to the pace and physicality of rugby at this level, but it has been very encouraging to see the way a number of newcomers have made the transition to rugby among the top English sides.

The return of Laurence Cowen-Leak will add power to the back row where number eight Will Hall was outstanding last week.

Hull will have enough pace to unsettle most defences, and they will be looking to add to their points tally again this weekend after having played some of their best  rugby this season last week against Taunton.
