National League 1 takes a break this week, which means Hull RUFC have no game this weekend. Still without a win, the break gives everyone the chance to reflect on the opening four games of the season. Before the season started, director of rugby Gary Pearce said the first four weeks would show how the league is shaping up. While the win column is still empty, there has been plenty of positives so far and winger Mike Adlard feels the break comes at a good time.
“I think the break has come just at the right time,” Adlard said.
“We’ve had a tough opening month and the break will allow us to rest and come together to look at how we’ve done and what we can do moving forward.”
“We’re slowly finding our feet in the this league.
“Although it’s been a tough start, I believe after the break we will come out stronger with a home game next week against Leeds Tykes.
“The step up has been challenging so far.
“But we can have a good go in this league.
“We come away with some amazing tries and we get the bonus point.
“We just can’t switch off and let silly tries in.”
