As a prop, Dom Hardman has a big say in how the set-pieces go.
In the scrum, his efforts in the front row can go a long way to establishing their dominance over their opponents.
And in the lineout, his positioning and lifting can help the side threaten the opposition at any time of the game.
So it’s perhaps no surprise that he was pleased with his day’s work on Saturday when Hull beat Kendal 38-5.
“Saturday was a very physical battle all game, that I feel we had the edge, shown in our scrum and line out dominance,” Hardman said.
“Having the quality of backs that we have is great.
“We know that the hard work of the forwards will be rewarded.
“We know that we have the ability to make something out of nothing.”
Hardman hopes for a similar performance and score when Hull travel to Kirkby Lonsdale on Saturday.
