Hull RUFC vs Tynedale RUFC : Match Report

A blistering start by Hull which saw them 25 -7 leaders after just twenty eight minutes could not be sustained and a second period where they lost the penalty count by a large margin and failed to gain possession of five of their own lineout plus a yellow cards saw the visitors rack up twenty one unanswered points to win 35-24.

Hull played open rugby from the first whistle  and having won an early lineout the ball was spun left and Tom Lineham made no mistake surging twenty five yards before crashing over in the left hand corner for an unconverted try after three minutes . Tynedale responded quickly and a deft kick to his left winger by off half Rodgers saw Hutton race under the post with Rodgers adding the conversion after nine minutes. 

The next twenty five minutes belonged to Hull as they attacked continually keeping the ball in hand as they  swept over for three well constructed tries . Hull’s powerful winger Tom Lineham rounding of two moves and centre Jack Render being  sent on a fifty yard run to the line by his of half Reece Dean who kicked one conversion as well as a twenty eighth minute penalty.

Tynedale did fashion a try of their own just before Jack Render’s fortieth minute try when Hull were reduced to fourteen men when off half Rodgers  put his second row Nankiville over for a try that Rodger converted to see Hull lead 25-14 at half time.

The second half saw Hull under constant pressure as they conceded possession at lineout and through penalties. Tynedale’s dominance in possession lead to three second half tries from short range lineouts after penalties with hooker Haigh being credited with all three with his off half Rodgers converting all three to see his side   win a game that seemed to be slipping away from them at half time .
