Tynedale are the visitors this week to Hull’s Ferens ground on Chanterlands Avenue. They sit second in the division and have lost just four times so far in this campaign. They have found a way to win close encounters but have run away with a few games showcasing their all action style of rugby.
Hull were disappointed to lose at Scunthorpe last week and will need to bounce back if they are to get anything out this fixture. Hull’s pack is much the same as last week but hooker Jack Bergmanas starts with the very promising Oliver Fretwell on the bench . In the backs scrum half Joey Barratt starts after a lively cameo last week when he came on for the last fifteen minutes.
Winger Tom Lineham, one of last weeks try scorers starts, with Harry Dawkins on the bench whilst the very promising debutant James Farrar resumes at full back with the rest of the line up similar to last weeks starting fifteen.
Hull were well in the game last week until a few errors crept in that were very costly. Precision is so important and whether it is box kicks that are a bit too far for the kickers own players to get there or a lineout lost for a fractionally long or short throw these things concede possession and cause problems .Hull scored four excellent tries and had some extraordinary bad luck particularly when a touch judge claimed to have fell over but seemed to wave his flag for a foot in touch but this counted for nought as Hull’s players stopped but Scunthorpe’s didn’t as their winger raced over unopposed for a try!!!!
Tynedale will be a tough fixture but Hull gave league leaders Sheffield a good run for their money a couple of weeks ago and can do the same again on Saturday and come away with something to show for their commitment and inventiveness.
