Hull RUFC vs Fylde RUFC: Match Preview

Hull resume their National League two campaign after their encouraging victory against Preston Grasshoppers last week with a home fixture against sixth placed Fylde. The Lancashire outfit have had a very mixed season with some very good results but have  included that rare result in rugby , a drawn game and not just one but three with their most recent being against Preston Grasshoppers a  couple of weeks ago when they let slip a nineteen point advantage .

Past form is no pointer to this weeks result and Hull will need to produce a performance at least as good as the ones they have displayed against Billingham ,Otley and Preston if they are to come away with points from this encounter. In the corresponding game back in the autumn Hull had plenty of the ball but defensive frailties were very expensive against a side that has pace and good handling skills in a useful back division.

Hull go into this game with much the same side as last week but welcome back prop Charlie Beech to  the bench as cover for the front row.

The starting fifteen sees Tom Lineham replace Jake Boardman on the wing as the only change to a three quarter line that was always dangerous in attack last week. The pack sees the same starting line up with back rowers  Harvey Harding and Josh Ratuvou, converts from the back division , looking to build on the excellent form they showed last week.

The bench sees centre cum full back cum winger Harry Dawkins return with one of last weeks try scorers Harry Gunn-Mclean  and scrum half Harry Pinder completing the backs cover with the experienced front row forward Jack Bergmanas taking  the final substitutes place.

Hull will neednall the fire and determination of last week allied to a steely defence to come awy with asnother victory against a top half of the league side but there were many good signs last week that such a result is achievable.
