28 November 2015 – Yorkshire Cup 2nd Round : Ilkley 20-6 Hull

Hull exited the Yorkshire Cup after going down 20-6 at Ilkley having travelled with a much changed squad who worked tirelessly but ultimately gifted the hosts two tries for their win. Ilkley had the better of the opening exchanges and opened the scoring on 18 minutes with a penalty. On 30 minutes an error by the visitors saw Ilkley gifted possession and they scored a converted try under the posts. Hull reduced the deficit with a Jake Goodison penalty but on the stroke of half time another converted home try resulted in a 17-3 interval lead for the hosts. Ten minutes into the second half and in atrocious conditions Goodison slotted over another penalty for Hull but they were unable to trouble the Ilkley try line and a late penalty from the home side completed the scoring.

27 November 2010  – National Division Two North : Hull 30-15 Hull Ionians

In what turned out to be Hull’s last match in 2010 and Alex Piercy’s 100th game for the club, local rivals Hull Ionians were beaten 30-15 in the only National 2 North game played that day. Winter had arrived with a vengeance but there was a marvellous effort by the ground staff and volunteers who worked tirelessly to clear the pitch of snow to ensure the pitch passed an inspection at 11.00 a.m. In bitterly cold conditions Hull dominated the early stages and led through a 6th minute James Cameron penalty but Hull Ionians responded with two unconverted tries to lead 10-3 before another Cameron penalty and a try for Scott Plevey on the stroke of half time gave the hosts a 11-10 lead at the interval. Hull stretched their lead with a brace of tries on the hour mark from Sione Onesi, both converted by Cameron to lead 25-10. With 10 minutes remaining Hull Ionians scored a fine solo try before James Kirk’s late try ensured Hull secured the four try bonus point and the first derby win of the season.
