Hull RUFC vs Billingham RUFC – Match Preview

Hull’s never ending list of injuries has seen eight players sidelined already this season but with players returning and some new faces coming forward Hull will field a powerful side for Saturdays encounter with Billingham. The pack, which all but demolished Fylde in the set pieces last week, sees changes as second rower Evi Uriburu Gray is away  and his partner ,Liam Regardsoe , is injured  . Mike Jobling and Loma Kivalu team up in the lock positions and the front row of Charlie Beech, Jack Bergmanas and Gaz Denman will start the game. Danny Ward, Paulos Latu, and the returning Laurence Cowan -Leak make up a strong running back row as Hull field one of their biggest packs in recent times .

The backs see Harry Pinder continue at scrum half with off half and goalkicker  Reece Dean playing his one hundredth game for the club. Newcomer Jack Render comes in at centre , having previously played one game coming off the bench,  partnering a try scorer from last week David Halaifonua. Jamie Shaul returns for his second game of the season at full back and Tom Lineham and Harry Dawkins play on opposite wings to complete the line up .

The bench sees Tomasi Tanumi  return to the club, adding his ability to play any position in the backline  whilst the talented Vetaia Sukani and one of last week’s try scorers Harry Gunn-Mclean complete the back substitutions. Latu Makaafi and Dale Ellerby cover the forward positions.

Hull scored five tries last week but ended up on the losing side. They have shown scoring potential all season but need to turn that ability into victories. If Hull scrummage as last week and can retain their lineout ball and cut down the penalty count against them selves they will have every chance of getting their first win on the board   at the expense of a free running Billingham side.
