Hull RUFC vs Preston Grasshoppers – Match Preview

Hull have had two losses so far, but in both games they were well in touch till late on and will be hoping to go one better this weekend. The pack remains much the same as last week but will be without the influential prop Charlie Beech. However Hull have some strength in depth and will be a solid eight with a strong presence on the bench.

In the two starts Hull have made so far they have dominated the scrums and had the edge in the collision areas but have not been able to convert those positive areas into victories.

As the side looks to establish itself  this season after drafting in a number of new players it will take a little time for it to gel.

However Hull’s back division sees something of a new look with Jamie Shaul coming in at full back and Tomm Minns replacing the injured Alex Heard in the centre while Harry Dawkins reverts to the wing.

These changes bring in very experienced players and give the side a better balance against this weeks opponents, Preston Grasshoppers. The visitors had a convincing victory against Billingham but were just second best against Fylde.

It will be a tough encounter but Hull have the players to kick start their season if the new combinations can find their feet.
