Fylde RUFC Vs Hull RUFC – Match Preview

Hull travel to Lancashire to take on Fylde who sit comfortably in fourth place in the league. Hull on the other hand are just two points above the bottom two clubs who are clawing their way towards the rest of the league making the battle to stay up a lot closer than seemed possible just a few weeks ago. Hull’s last three game have seen a convincing win against Preston Grasshoppers followed by two losses in games where Hull were in real contention until about the 50-minute mark.

Hull beat Fylde earlier in the season and a repeat performance would be just what is needed this weekend. Hull have had injury problems but are hoping to welcome back back row forward Adam Brankley this weekend. Centre/winger Peter Hudson is also hoping to return to bolster Hull’s fire power.

The team have played some very good rugby in the two recent defeats but the second half has seen them fade badly on both occasions. This week Hull will need to maintain focus for 80 minutes and concentrate on every phase of the game. If they can reduce the adverse penalty count, and win all their first phase ball they can trouble any side.

The pack has some powerful figures like Liam Regardsoe and Paulos Latu who can win the collisions and get over the gain line and that ability will need to be on display this weekend to help Hull get something out of this game.
