4 January 2020 – National Two North : Hull 18-25 Stourbridge
Stourbridge ended Hull’s five game winning run, and overtook them in the league table, with this win at the Ferens Ground. The visitors scored first with an unconverted try after six minutes and both sides exchanged penalties for a half time score 8-3 to Stourbridge.
The second half saw the visitors score three early tries before Hull fought back with tries from Ali Heard following a swift passing move and Tom O’Donnell who rolled off an advancing maul to touch down. Despite a late barrage of pressure Hull couldn’t add to their score as the visitors held out for the win.

3 January 2015 – National Two North : Hull 27-22 Chester
With Gary Pearce back in the coaching set up Hull started the New Year with a home win in an entertaining game. Chester opened the scoring with a converted try after just four minutesbut Hull responded quickly with an unconverted try from winger Stephen Hihetah. Hull followed it up with a catch and drive try for Ollie Cook and Greg Lound landed a superb conversion to put Hull in front.
Chester had a man yellow carded but despite being a player short scored the next try before a Lound penalty and fine try from Ali Heard put Hull into a 20-12 half time lead. Chester started the second half well with a converted try and a penalty to regain the lead which they held until late in the game. An excellent move won the game for Hull when Lound’s cross-field kick found winger Hihetah who made 50 yards before offloading to Ben Sullivan to charge over the line. Lound’s conversion secured the home win 27-22.

2 January 2010 – National Division Two North : Hull 27-7 Hull Ionians
Hull triumphed over their local rivals for the second time in the season in a fierce encounter at the Ferens Ground that went ahead after an early morning pitch inspection. The rivalry between both sides was evident from the start as Hull Ionians’ James Rule was sin-binned straight after the kick off for a dangerous tackle off the ball. Both sides missed early penalties before Hull made the breakthrough after eleven minutes.
From a line out Rob Devonshire found space before cutting inside the last man to score. Robin Kitching added the conversion and just after the half hour mark he scored a penalty to give Hull a 10-0 half time lead. Ten minutes into the second half Neil Spence got over the try line following a close range line out and eight minutes later Hull scored an excellent passing try with Guy Martinson running between two defenders for the third try of the game.
Ionians finally got on the scoreboard through a Steve Slingsby converted try but with five minutes remaining Hull secured the bonus point. Following a scrum Rob Devonshire again found space to crash over for his second try and the home side took the bragging rights with a 27-7 victory.
