Hull face second bottom club Sheffield Tigers this weekend but complacency will be the last thing on Hull’s mind. The Tigers sit just four points behind Hull and a win could see them leapfrog Hull in the National 2 North.
A win against bottom club Harrogate and a draw against Otley maybe their only successes but narrow losses to Fylde and league leaders Lymm will have Hull every bit as focused as they were last week against high-flying Fylde.
Joey Barratt and Keane Naylor are fit to return to take their places in a potential line up. The man of the match award could have gone to a number of players last week which was a tribute to a determined never-say-die effort from the whole side.
Hull’s scrum worked well and despite some line-out issues, Hull stole three of Fylde’s.
There are still areas to work on in Hull’s game if they are to record a second successive victory against an improving Sheffield Tigers team, who will be going all out to win and move up the table.
Last week’s starting XV for Mike Umaga did very well and the subs bench had a considerable impact, so a lot of thought will go into the selection of the 20 players who will take on Sheffield Tigers, weather permitting.
It will be a tough ask especially on the Tigers famous sloping pitch, but Hull have the talent to win in what promises to be a closely-fought game.
