19 October 2019 – National Two North: Loughborough Students 22-17 Hull
A very close game resulted in Loughborough Students securing their third successive win at the expense of visitors Hull. The Students scored three first half tries and had built a 22-0 lead after thirty two minutes before Hull got on the scoreboard following a spell of pressure when Steve McColl went over for an unconverted try to end the scoring in the first half.
Hull attacked relentlessly in the second half and tries from Mike Jobling and Ali Thomson, one converted by Simon Humberstone, brought the gap down to 22-17 with half an hour to play. Hull kept up the pressure but were unable to break through again and Loughborough held on for the win.

Hull were again left frustrated as missed opportunities resulted in defeat away at Huddersfield. The visitors started well and early pressure resulted in a 16th minute penalty which Greg Lound narrowly missed. Four minutes later Lound hit the post from another penalty before Huddersfield opened the scoring with a converted try on 28 minutes.
Jamie Kirk raced clear for Hull but was denied by a great try saving tackle after 37 minutes but as half time approached Lound kicked a penalty for a 7-3 half time score. The second half saw Hull score first as Kirk raced in from 20 yards but unfortunately Lound’s conversion hit the upright and back into play. Huddersfield regained the lead scoring two quick tries and although a Lound penalty gave Hull hope the home side wrapped up the game with a converted try.
