Harrison: Plenty Of Positives From Somerset Win To Take Into Roses Clash

Yorkshire take on Lancashire in the third and final group game in Pool 1 of this year’s Bill Beaumont County Championship, Division 1. Lancashire opened their account with a 54-33 win at home to Somerset, a week before Yorkshire made the long trip to Hornets RUFC to beat Somerset 33-31. Fly-half Harrison Astley featured heavily in that win and is hoping the White Rose county can make it two wins from two against their neighbours at Brantingham Park on Saturday (3pm).

“Lancashire will be a tough game and hopefully we get the win and it’s Twickenham after that,” Astley said.
“Winning in Somerset last weekend was a big bonus.
“It was the first time this group of players had played a game together.
“If you’re a fan of rugby union, make sure you come down to Brantingham Park and support us.
“It will be a hell of a game of rugby between the best Yorkshire and Lancashire players in National One and Two, joining together in county rugby.
“It’s a nice pitch and nice ground so it should be a great occasion.
“I think our communication will be a lot better after having played last week’s game.
“Now that we have a game under our belt, things have been smoother in training and the communication will be better in the game against Lancashire.
“We just have to go out on the pitch and make it happen.”
