A Broken Nose Wasn’t Going To Ruin My Opportunity

Hull end their season at home this Saturday when Otley make the journey to Chants Ave. Back rower Dan McDougall hopes to continue his run on the team after making his second start at Sheffield RUFC last time out. A nose injury wasn’t going to get in his way of playing a sport he loves. As one of the younger members of the squad, he is learning as much as he can from the more experienced players around him.

“It’s been good really enjoyed, been a good experience,” McDougall said.
“I’ve learnt a lot from the lads there’s some really good players which I’ve picked things up from.
”It’s been fun to learn and I think making my debut was a good highlight against Leeds Tykes even though we didn’t get the results we wanted.
“But I think the highlight of the last few weeks would have to be winning away at Tynedale, coming in late to start because of and injury and getting the result late on was class.
”The nose is all good a bit bruised nothing to serious I think.
“I wanted to stay on as long as I could really to keep on going
“I got my second start for Hull and I wanted to try show my ability when giving the opportunity.
“Sheffield was a tough game and it wasn’t what we were hoping for, but we go again this week against Otley for the last game of the season.
“It’s nice to have had a week off to rest the body and get ready for the big last game.
“Some real big characters in the team a lot of great lads welcomed me in from my first training session.
“I knew a few of the lads from Bishop Burton last year which made it easier but as a team it’s a great group and a good environment.
“Everyone plays for everyone and it’s great to be involved in.
“I’ve been around now since January I’ve learnt a lot but really looking forward to keep on learning of the lads and the coaches ahead of next season.”
