Despite losing six line outs and having some problems in the scrum, Hull edged a titanic encounter 36-34 against a lively and adventurous Tynedale side.
The visitors scored a converted try in the last couple of minutes to turn the tide on the home side who held the lead for most of the game.
Hull were in arrears early on when they lost an early lineout and the Tynedale pack powered forward. They then moved the ball wider for winger Joe Tulley to touch down under the posts with off half Leslie adding the extras.
Hull were making yardage going forward, but they were unable to break down the Tynedale defence and it was the home side who scored next when hooker Oliver got the touchdown from a catch and drive unconverted try after 25 minutes.
Hull were always in the game and a series of bullocking runs culminated with hooker Mike Jobling scoring a try after 36 minutes with full back Reece Dean converting.

With half-time beckoning, Hull gave away possession from the kick off and Tynedale stretched their lead with a further try to substitute Taylor converted by Leslie to see the home side ahead at halftime by 19-7.
The second half saw Hull battle their way back into contention after just four minutes when Hull took full advantage of a penalty award to win a lineout. Off half Harrison Astley made a clean break before putting prop Tom Bairstow in for a converted try to leave Hull trailing by just five points 19-14.
An unconverted try for Tynedale by hooker Oliver from a catch and drive after a lineout on 54 minutes put his side ahead 24-14 which seemed to put his side well ahead.
Bureta Faraimo, Hull’s powerful centre, had other ideas and a run from 40 yards out, bursting through tackles before touching down under the posts saw Hul right back in the game. Dean kicked the conversion and then knocked over a penalty after 64 minutes to see Hull two points adrift at 24-22.
In a frantic finish to the game, Tynedale scored an unconverted try through Scott after 70 minutes to see Tynedale ahead 29-22. But when Hull charged down a kick in the home side’s ‘22’ prop forward Bairstow was on had to race over under the posts for his second try of the game, which was converted by Dean.
With the scores tied at 29-29, a draw seemed likely but Hull lost the ball at the kick off allowing Tynedale hooker Oliver to score his third try which went unconverted to see his side 34-29 in the lead with just three minutes on the clock.

A mistake by the home side saw Hull back in possession. Hull ran the ball back at Tynedale before the pack took control few yards out with hooker Jobling touching down for his second try near the left hand corner to level the scores once again. A magnificent conversion by Dean saw Hull back in the lead by two points.
Hull still had to grind out the last three minutes of injury time to secure a hard earned but dramatic victory against a very good Tynedale side.
