Man of the match against Wharfedale. National 2 North player of the week. Reaching the 500-point milestone for the club. It’s been a pretty good week for Reece Dean. It’s the third time this season that one of the club’s players has been named National 2 North’s player of the week, following on from Jamie Shaul and James Naylor. For Dean, it’s a greater achievement, given he was switched to full-back three games ago. But it highlights how good and versatile a player he is, that he can shine at full-back or fly-half. As for reaching the 500-point milestone, he’s honoured to do so.
“I’m proud to have reached that milestone,” Dean said.
“I’m still new to the game, after playing league all my life and I’m starting to know the game inside out now.
“Mike is really good at teaching me so it’s a nice milestone to reach.
“500 is a lot of points but I couldn’t do that without the rest of the lads, getting into positions for penalties.

“It’s my job to kick the goals and when I get the chance, I’ve got to nail them.
“This is my third year at Hull RUFC. I’m enjoying it and we have a few ex-rugby league players in the squad, which we have to rely on in this area.
“We’ve got some momentum now after three wins in a row and it’s a shame we have no game this weekend.
“I’ve found my home here at this club. It’s perfect for me and my family and I’m enjoying it. When you enjoy playing, you play better.
“I’m 27, so hopefully there are another 500 points in me for this club.
“This group of players could be the team for the next five or six years.”
