Kaminieli Tuvotu admits the step up from playing university rugby to National 2 North level was massive. Tuvotu is the latest prospect from Bishop Burton to be given a chance in the first team by director of rugby Mike Umaga. Despite being on the losing side, the prop fully enjoyed his debut at Sheffield Tigers and hopes for more action this season.
“It was an interesting game,” Tuvotu said.
“It was a slow start at the beginning, but we gradually grew into the game.
“I thought I played well when I got on for the final five minutes.
“I know Mike from the Bishop Burton team and he brought me along to Hull.
“It was a massive step up from college to this level.
“The speed of play is very fast.
“It was a challenge to keep up but it was good.
“I’m very grateful for the opportunity.
“I enjoyed it. It was a good experience overall.
“I’ve been made very welcome by the lads and I look forward to more games hopefully.”
