Leeds Will Provide Tough Challenge At Chants Ave

Hull have a completely different task ahead of them this week. Last week they defeated the bottom club Huddersfield in some style but this week they take on the league leaders who have won every game they have played and collected a good few bonus points to see them clear leaders and favorites to go up at the end of the season.

In the corresponding game at Leeds earlier this season, Hull looked the better side for 20 minutes, but ultimately the league leaders imposed their authority on the game and pulled clear in the second half.

Leeds have recruited well from clubs in this league and have made some astute loan signings as they prepare for life beyond this season.

Hull played very well last week against Huddersfield and whilst they will field much the same side as last week, they have a couple of enforced changes.

Harvey Harding moves into the back row in an otherwise unchanged pack that did so well last week.

In the backs with  Duell Trueman unavailable, Bureta Faraimo returns on the wing with Harrison Astley staying at full back.

The bench could see back rower Reece Fawcett join prop Charlie Beech, with scrumhalf Joe Barratt, utility back David Davison, forwards Latu Makaafi and Josh Papa completing the squad.

Hull will have been highly encouraged by last week’s victory, but they will be well aware that Leeds will pose a much greater test.

If Hull can play with the self belief from last week and the ‘never say die’ attitude of the pre-Christmas derby, they will leave their mark on a very good Leeds side.
