Harvey Harding admits he felt like a new player when he returned from nine months out for Saturday’s 60-26 win over Huddersfield at Chants Ave. A torn abductor sidelined the scrum-half, but after half an hour of game time, he is glad to be back after a long and tough period. “It felt very good to be back,” Harding said.
“It’s been a long journey to get here, and a tough one.
“I’ve not really been around but it felt good to be back.
“I woke up on Saturday morning really nervous.
“I’ve been training with the lads for the last couple of weeks but in that game day changing room, I felt like a new guy.
“There are a few players that I hadn’t played with before.
”I started to feel natural after the warm-up.
”I was out for nine months, after tearing my abductor.
“I’d been on for two minutes when I first got my hands on the ball.
“I probably should have passed but I looked for contact to get that out of the way.
“That settled me and I went from there.
“I just need to work on the lungs now. You need games to get match fit.
“It felt reassuring to get that contact. During and after the game all felt good.
