Below Par Hull Defeated By Tynedale

Hull’s lineout losses on their own throw and an inability to retain possession when in threatening positions proved costly against a well drilled Tynedale side. Tynedale were on the attack from the first minute and a couple of chances went begging before winger Hutton went in for their first try after eleven minutes.

Hull were under constant pressure and they did not enter the Tynedale ’22’ until the 22nd minute. A better spell from them saw a penalty from Hull’s off half Reece Dean getting Hull on the scoreboard after 25 minutes.

It took just ten minutes for Tynedale to score again as Hull lost possession as a pass went to ground and the visitors seized on the chance and winger Beaty went in under the posts for a try converted by off half Leslie to see his side 12-3 ahead. More Tynedale pressure ended in Leslie getting a late unconverted try to his side comfortable at 17-3 at the break.

The second period saw Hull trying to fight back but it was Tynedale who increased their lead after 62 minutes when a cross kick from off half  Leslie was caught by Beaty who touched down for an unconverted try. After 65 minutes, Tynedale scored another unconverted try through Leslie to go 27-3 ahead.

In a late flurry, Hull scored a good try from deep in their own half which was rounded off by number eight and captain Will Hall and converted by Dean. However it was the visitors who had the last word when Hull were pressing but another dropped ball saw Tyndale race away with hooker Frankland getting the final pass with Leslie adding the conversion to see his side home and dry 34-10.
