Hull resume fixtures after the two week mid term break with a game at third placed Wharfedale. Their opponents this week have had a good start to their season losing just two games, but having won two by a single point with the only significant margin being against Otley.
Wharefdale lost at Hull Ionians last time out with a loss to Rotherham being their only other reverse. They pride themselves on playing a 15-a-side game so it augers well for fast game with perhaps less box kicking than in the World Cup!
Hull will be without full back Jamie Shaul who has made a very encouraging start to his rugby union career but welcome back Harrison Astley and Duell Trueman in the backs and prop Charlie Beech.
As ever selection will not be finalised until Friday lunchtime, but Hull should have David Halafoinua and Bureta Faraimo in the backs with Peter Hudson-Kowalewicz and captain Ali Heard making up the three quarter line. Trueman is back in training and he takes his place on the bench.
The pack has been working hard all season and with Charlie Beech back at prop to help out with some of the hard graft, the pack has a solid look about it. Will Hall at number eight has led well and all the forwards have worked hard to match his energy levels.
Hull will be hoping that they can have another good day on the road. Hull have given a good account of themselves this season and if they can maintain their previous levels of performance there is a very good chance that they will not return to East Yorkshire empty handed.
