Hull RUFC return to action on Saturday when they travel to Wharfedale looking to extend their unbeaten run to four. A 40-24 win at home to Billingham sent the players into the break on a high. But it wasn’t the perfect game. Tomas Bairstow feels the team is playing at 80% of their capability and hopes that increase to 100% at Wharfedale.
“We were solid in the first 40 minutes against Billingham,” Bairstow said.
“Then we had a bit of an issue with the tackling height but we stuck through it for the 80 minutes to win the game.
“The win puts us in a good place for Wharfedale when we come back.
“We’re getting there. We’re probably about 80 per cent of our potential.
“The scrum is coming along and the line out is coming along.
“Now it’s about getting that 100 per cent performance.
“In this league 40 minute performances are not good enough.”
