Latest Team News For Tomorrow’s Trip To Wharfedale

Hull’s side for the trip to Wharefdale sees some changes from the last match now almost three weeks ago. Liam Regardsoe  has recovered from illness and comes into the second row with Latu Maakafi returning to the back row to partner number eight and vice captain Will Hall and Evi Uriburu-Gray.

David Davidson starts at scrum-half with Joey Barratt on the bench whilst Harrison Astley replaces the unavailable Jamie Shaul at full back. The bench sees the return of Charlie Beech and Duell Trueman with second rower Kym Russell and Paulos Latu who can play back row as well, completing the five subs allowed at this level.

On paper it is a strong line up but Hull will encounter a good Wharefdale side who sit third place in the league, one place above the visitors. The home side like to pay open rugby and have amassed a lot of points but have shipped as many and have had a couple of victories of just one point .

Hull have had just two defeats and one draw this season as they can look back at a solid start to their campaign. It would be all the better if they were to get the points on Saturday, but it will be a tough but not impossible ask. There are a lot of newcomers to the Hull line up and they are starting to gel, but at this level the game is not won until the final whistle.

Weather conditions could well play a part with rain forecast for the afternoon, but it may come later in the day. However that may be both sides will have to adapt and a close contest looks likely but if Hull can play with the confidence they showed against Billingham they are capable of registering another victory. But only if they can defend as well as they did last time out as the home side will throw everything at them.
