Hull RUFC are delighted to announce the signing of Hull FC full-back Jamie Shaul. Shaul, who helped FC win back-to-back Challenge Cup finals in 2016 and 2017, scoring a crucial try in the 12-10 win over Warrington in 2016, goes into Saturday’s squad for the trip to Preston Grasshoppers. Shaul is excited about what the latest chapter in his glittering career brings.
“I’m very excited,” Shaul said.
“I’m looking forward to most learning a new game and a new challenge.
“I’m sure it’s not going to be easy, and I will be fully dedicated to learning the game as fast as I can.
“But most of all for me, it’s about enjoying it.
“That is something I wasn’t doing playing rugby league.”

π Tevita Vaikona
π Lee Radford
π Motu Tony

Shaul is the latest in a long line of former FC players to join the club. That list includes Bureta Faraimo and Reece Dean and that familiarity has helped Shaul settle.
“Yeah, knowing the boys that used to play at Hull FC helps,” Shaul said.
“They have all transitioned from league to union, so I can pick their brains a lot.
“But I had already met a lot of the boys before my first training session when I went to go watch the first home game.
“That has made it a lot easier knowing a few boys before my first training session.
“The club have been very welcoming to me and my family and that has made the decision to sign very easy for me.
“I thank them for a great opportunity for me to enjoy a sport again and hopefully I can repay that on the field.”
