David Davison Adjusting Well To Step Up

While Saturday’s derby didn’t go the way Hull RUFC wanted, it was another game under the belt for the six new players named in the 20-man squad that faced Hull Ionians. David Davison is one of the newcomers and the former Pocklington back made a good impression when he came on in the second half. Davison, normally a scrum-half, but who filled in on the wing, said it was good to play his first game of the season, even if things went against him and the rest of the team.

“It was good to play my first game for Hull RUFC, in pretty hot conditions,” Davison said.
“We never gave in really, even when scores were going against us and we were giving away penalties.
“I enjoyed it, although I wasn’t in my normal position of scrum-half, but I’m used to playing in other positions.
“Because of my work commitments, I’ve only been training for about three weeks with the lads.
“The training has been really tough, but I’m getting fitness back into my legs and it’s all good.
“The main difference from stepping up from Pocklington’s level to this, is the individual skill set of each player.”
