Support Andy Hallas On His MND Fundraising Walk

In the last few years, the sport of rugby has been hit by Motor Neurone Disease. We’ll all be familiar of the high profile cases of former Scotland international Doddie Weir in the 15-man code and Rob Burrow, the former Leeds Rhinos and England international, but the disease has struck locally.

Simon Smith played for Hull RUFC and captained Hull Ionians during his career before he sadly passed away in 2007. So it’s a perfect time, after yesterday first derby of the new season, to promote a fundraising walk to raise funds and raise awareness of MND.

On Friday (September 15), Andy Hallas will walk the 62 miles (100 kms) from Headingley, a ground where Burrow dazzled his opponents with his unbelievable skills, to Hull’s MKM Stadium. Andy is scheduled to finish his walk in time before Hull FC’s home game with Huddersfield on Saturday (3pm kickoff).

Andy hopes to raise £100,000. If you’re able to support us with a donation, no matter how big or small please scan the QR code in the photo below to go straight to our fund raising page or visit https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/andyhallasch.
