The days are getting warmer as summer moves in, and for Hull RUFC director of rugby Mike Umaga is continuing to shape his squad for next season. Last week, Mike Adlard committed his future to the club and this week, three more players have confirmed their availability for the club’s return to National 2 North. Club captain Mike Jobling joins Reece Dean and Duell Trueman in returning next season. Umaga is obviously delighted to be able to call upon three more key players who helped the club win promotion to National League 1.
“Mike is the ultimate clubman,” Umaga said.
“He’s now played 200 games for the club, a feat only bettered by his good friend Ali Heard of the current squad.
“And Ali is also co-captain.
“Mike has always been committed tot he club and to have him re-sign for the forthcoming season, is a massive stabiliser for the squad.
“I’m looking forward to working with Jobbers again, and one thing is for sure, he’ll keep the young lads in check and on their game.
“Reece is an exciting prospect who is still learning the game of rugby union.
“I’m happy he has decided to re-sign with Hull RUFC as he did have some interest from other clubs which is understandable.
“I’m really looking forward to working with him again during this upcoming season.
“Duell is another product of Bishop Burton College.
“He was able to finish last season with some solid performances in the full-back position and is longing to cement that position in the forthcoming campaign.”
