One of Hull RUFC’s summer signings, Josh Hanlon, admits joining the National League 1 side was an easy decision to make. Hanlon joins the Chants Ave club after leaving Ulster at the end of last season and is keen to make an immediate impact for his new club. Hanlon, an international hooker for Ireland at under-20 level, believes the switch to Hull is a great opportunity. So how did the hooker find his way to Hull?
“I first found out about Hull through my agent,” Hanlon said.
“After I knew I wanted to leave Ireland to play elsewhere, it seemed like a real good opportunity to come into a winning environment.
“It was an easy decision. Hull reminds me a lot of home.
“When I came over a couple of weeks ago to meet the boys, they all seemed like good lads and I’m excited to see what we can do in National 1.
“I got released by Ulster which was tough as obviously as a kid you grow up wanting to play for your home club and country.
“But you have to look at those things as an opportunity.
“I enjoyed my time there and am excited for a new challenge here in Hull.
“From what I’ve seen at training, there’s a lot of talented boys and they are a close group.
“So I’m hoping I can help add to the squad and the boys can continue on the form and performances they produced last season.”
