For a Hull-born player who has represented the club over 150 times, to be asked to be club captain, it really didn’t take Mike Jobling to reply ‘yes’. Jobling, who has seen the highs and lows of this club over the last few years, admits it is a great honour to take on the role ahead of their historic first ever season in National League 1 which starts on Saturday with a trip to Bishop’s Stortford. The announcement comes days after the club revealed Cam Curry and Ali Heard would continue as co-captains.
“It is a great honour to be asked to take up the role of club captain,” Jobling said.
“And it also helps in supporting the link between the players, management and the committee.
“It’s almost been a role I have been doing for the club without a title for the last few years.
“So the recognition is very humbling.
“It will be also great to contribute supporting Cam and Ali as our captains on the field.”
