When Jack Edwards was asked if he would be interested in joining Hull RUFC in their first ever season in the third tier of English rugby, it was an easy decision to say yes. Especially as he was also offered a role on the coaching staff at Bishop Burton College at the same time. Edwards is a former player at the college and is looking forward to the two chapters about to open for the former England University 7s speedster. Edwards admits it’s been fun getting to know his new team-mates in what promised to be a thrilling campaign in National League 1.
“I’m starting to settle in well,” Edwards said.
“Being a newbie anywhere learning the moves and meeting people is always a fun transition.
“However all the boys are class making me feel welcome.
“I was approached by Gary about the proposition of joining Hull.
“I was approached by other teams, however a coaching role at Bishop Burton College opened up and it all kind of slotted into place.
“I’m sure everyone’s goal this season will be to stay up in National 1.
“We want to find our feet within the league and enjoy playing the game together as a team.
“I personally set goals for the season and each game, small but very achievable goals per game and some outlandish goals per season as for something to push for.”
