When Cam Curry looks back at what he has achieved in his rugby career, the 2021/22 season will stand out more than anything else. Besides being the man to lift the National 2 North trophy with fellow captain Ali Heard, Curry’s performances saw him represent Yorkshire which is always a great honour for any player playing at this level. If that wasn’t enough, Curry was last week named in the league’s team of the year. Curry admits the season topped anything he could have imagined.
“It’s the season that keeps on giving,” Curry said.
“Being recognised by National League Rugby is a huge honour and completely unexpected given the calibre of second rows in our league from top to bottom.
“I was away for the Lancashire game but played against Northumberland and loved the experience against my childhood county.
“It was good to catch up with some old mates and taking the win with family and friends watching on was very memorable.
“The plaudits we’re receiving as individuals, wouldn’t have come about without the tireless graft and commitment from each person at our club this season.
“I’m sure I won’t be the last from Hull RUFC making the list and regardless, each lad who laced up their boots for us this year deserves huge wraps.”
