Hull RUFC maintained their six-point lead at the top of National 2 North after winning 40-14 at Bournville. The bonus-point win was secured without much fuss, but the winning margin could and should have been greater according to Richard Gore.
“Hull’s convincing victory on Saturday could have been even more emphatic if Hull had not had three tries disallowed,” Richard said.
“All three were when Hull appeared to drive towards the line in possession and even from the touchline one looked a clear try.
“Had even one been awarded, would Bournville have been able to raise their game like they did?
“One negative from the game was an injury to prop Charlie Beech who left the field late in the game with a shoulder injury.
“It must be hoped that he will soon recover as the remaining four games will all be tough.
“Hull’s front row has been an important part of this season’s great success and Charlie has played a big part in Hull’s tremendous scrummaging ability.”
