Hull RUFC travel to Bournville this weekend looking to continue their winning run which currently stands at 15. Their latest win, a 24-19 win over second placed Sedgley Park was the second time in three weeks that the team played their nearest rivals, coming out on top in both occasions. Beating Rotherham and Sedgley Park in such a short space of time has helped Hull stay top of the table with a six-point cushion, but as Liam Regardsoe explains, Saturday’s trip to the Midlands is every bit as important as last weekend’s win.
“Every game now becomes more important than the last,” Liam said.
“It means a lot to us to have a bit of a gap at the top of the table.
“The boys really stuck in last week’s game from minute one to 80.
“Once again the togetherness showed and it was nice to have a few of the boys back after missing a couple of weeks.
“It wasn’t quite working as we would have wanted at times in the first half of the season, but after the loss at Rotherham, things have just clicked.
“We’ve all bought into what is being asked of us and we are working hard for each other and that’s why we are winning big games like we have.
“This is the most enjoyable spell at Hull. I’ve never thought of looking at anything else or playing for anyone else.
“We just want to be there on the shoulder for each other. You can’t buy that.
“We left it a bit close and we should have started the second half a lot better, but we’ll look at that.”
