Will Hall turns 24 today and he really couldn’t have asked for a better birthday weekend leading up to it. Hall, who has been one of Hull’s most consistent performers so far this season, not only helped Hull win their first derby against Ionians in 11 years and 21 days, his fourth minute try got his team off to the perfect start. And the win also saw Hull climb to the top spot in National 2 North as the league enters it’s Christmas break. Hall admits he’ll enjoy the break before setting his sights on the visit of Stourbridge on January 8.
“Christmas Dinner will taste a lot better,” Hall said.
“Saturday was my first derby and I know how much the boys have been looking forward to it.
“It was the first game we looked for when the fixtures came out and it was everything we wanted it to be.
“We went there wanting to win and that’s what we did. The players have done themselves proud.
“Everyone was outstanding and the subs that came on were unbelievable.
“We couldn’t have asked for any more. It was very pleasing to score the first try and get us on our way. It was very satisfying.
“This gives us a good platform to take into 2022 and our first game with Stourbridge.
“We know how unlucky we were at their place in the first meeting so we’re looking forward to getting them at our place and do what we do best.
“We showed against Ionians that we can compete with anyone.
“We’ve been unlucky against all these big sides but we’ll just crack on from here.”
